We have been fantastic 'Interactors' during ACTIVE play

During ACTIVE play we have been having fun using our cooperation muscles.

 We made a boat together. 

 Together we created a snowman family with the playdough.

 Can you see the baby on top of the snowman?

 We are having a baking contest. Danielle is going to be the judge.

 We constructed a new hut with the benches and blocks.

Budding engineers

We have so much fun making beyblades out of lego. We use to make beyblades out of k'nex but we had to let Whio have a turn with them. Osten had an idea to make beyblades using lego instead. We have to make them strong. We can battle each other. We try to make them symmetrical so they are balanced. It's hard to find the tips for the bottom.

Tī Kōuka's Studio Treaty

Last week we read the Tree Hut Treaty. In the story, the children decided it would be a good idea to come up with some rules for their tree house that they all agreed on. They called the rules a treaty. We talked about how New Zealand also has a treaty- The Treaty of Waitangi. We decided it would be a good idea to have a treaty for Tī Kōuka so we can all be happy and safe in the studio.

The rules we decided we wanted on our treaty are:
Use an inside voice
Tidy up before I go
Keep our hands and feet to ourselves
Use walking feet inside
Listen to who is talking
Try our best

Instead of signing the treaty we coloured in our hands to help make our Tī Kōuka tree. 

 

Tī Kōuka's Scavenger hunt

We did a scavenger hunt in our studio to help learn where to find things in Tī Kōuka. We were also practising using our ACTIVE muscles. This term we are focussing on being Interactors.

During the scavenger hunt, we tried hard to use our cooperation and respect muscles.
