Ti Kouka Kindness Jar

This week we have been making an extra effort to be kind to our peers and teachers. 

To get a bead in the jar we have to notice someone else doing something kind and nominate them. We cant nominate ourselves. 

On Monday we started with a few beads in the jar...

By Friday we had lots more in the jar... 

In Ti Kouka we made a kindness jar for when we be nice to someone.  I put one in it for helping Alexis for Bingo because she couldn't see it so I helped her.  by Harrison

Fact or Fib?

 This week we have been looking at how we are all unique. For writing, we have written statements about ourselves. Three of the statements are true and one is a fib. Next time you are in the studio come and see if you can work out which statements are facts and which are fibs.

ACTIVE Play

Today in ACTIVE play some children helped Kathryn make gingerbread men and we had a special visit from a furry friend.

A lop-eared bunny came to visit. He was very soft.

Each term we get together with some students from other studios and practice our Te Reo in various different ways. 

Our senior students plan activities and teach us something new.

Exploring Half - Maths

This week during maths, T15 has been exploring the different ways we can show half. 

We have learned to use a new app called Number Frame to help us show our thinking.  

We also learned how to mirror the iPads to the TV so that we can share and explain our thinking with the rest of the T group. 

Welcome Ahuriri friends!

This week we were so excited to have four friends from Ahuriri visiting Ti Kouka.  Ruby, Alexis, Serena and Ahyeon will be joining T10 and T14 next term.  We showed them some of our favourite maths games and equipment.
